. . . not to use the word "friend".

STUDENT: My maths teacher accused me and my friend of cheating on the test.

TUTOR: Oh, I can't believe that.

STUDENT: No, really, he did!

TUTOR: No, I mean I can't believe you have friends.

Yeah, anyway, I thought I would share that with you.

And I also say to them, in an enthusiastic voice: "Ooh! I've got something for you." And I dig inside my pocket for what seems like a present and they look all eager to find out what I have for them and then I pull out my hand and stick two fingers up at them.

I see teaching methods haven't changed since I were a lad, then.
I apologise, in advance.

They've stopped using slates, Tarks.

This is inspirational. The students of our country are in good hands.

Secretly, though, you'll soon be doing both of them to everyone you meet.

Remember it was my idea. I at least want a mention when you do it, something like: "Mince taught me that one."

"...I dig inside my pocket for what seems like a present..."

I heard of guys being arrested for that!  :o

I knew a Malcolm at school and we all called him "Talcum". We were wacky back then!

We could have a competition for what would be an appropriate nickname for Mince. We could make it difficult by insisting it had to be clean, on account of there being kids and ladies coming on here.
