What did your first wife die of?

Eating poisoned mushrooms

Oh dear, that's terrible. And your second wife died too?

Yep. Ate poisoned mushrooms.

Oh my god, that's awful. Your third wife died too, I hear?

Yep. Fractured skull.

Yikes! How on earth...?

Wouldn't eat the mushrooms.

Yes, I am beginning to understand them gradually. I think I almost poisoned my bird with mushrooms last night. Anyway, things aren't too serious yet romantically. I'm not about to get down on one knee and ask her to be my housekeeper or anything.

I think this viking poem may help you peeps

Praise no day until evening,
No wife befor her cremation,
No sword until tested,
No maid before marriage,
No ice until crossed,
No beer until it is drunk.

That's quite touching. I love poetic references to beer.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Another quote from the vikings poem known as the "Havamal"
Do not trust a woman's words, be she single or married;their hearts run on wheels' they are prey to moods.'

Just don't cross me at this time of the morning and as for Peter...I'll give you moods (that's a direct reference to Billy Connelly who asked, when someone shouted "Bike! I'll gie ye bike", what does that mean!!

Congratulations on your 100th post, Peter---and only 92 of them about Vikings! I suspect you have an interest in these Scandinavian chaps. (I like to think of them as Norse Peepmasters).

Scandinavian chaps are very useful for when you're riding your Scandinavian horse through very high Scandinavian g?rse.

Well I was just taking my time, selecting my shots , easing myself in, making sure the weather did not play a part, now I have made my first ton there will be no holding me. Unless the ref intervenes.

Peter, how did you manage to quote me and get the spelling wrong? "Propmaster" for "Peepmaster". This is worthy of ME and I'm fascinated!

How bizarre. Peter must have some kind of a spell check going on that's rejecting "peepmaster", and substituting "propmaster". I haven't been a propmaster since the early 1970s.
