Today's Andy Capp
« on: July 02, 2008, 03:47:39 PM »
I bought The Philippine Star today, as I remembered it carries Andy Capp as one of its cartoon strips. It was one I saw in The Mirror about 2 months ago. I feel cheated...

I'm flying back to Manila tomorrow then changing planes to Cebu. The adventure continues...

I've started uploading a few pics online: http://picasaweb.google.com/nigel.sutherland/Philippines2008

Incidentally, as you'll see from the photos, much of the real Philippines (outside of Manila), is quite under-developed. We travelled by tricycle last night to a restaurant that was down several unllt roads. Our driver went off the road at one point, it was so dark, and his headlight was dim. The only light you could see was from distant stars, and from the glow of mobile phones the locals were using to text themselves!

Do you mean that the main door of this restaurant opened into more than one road? Is it owned by Doctor Who?

Our driver went off the road at one point,

Then I suggest that you stop pointing. It must distract the driver no end.

it was so dark, and his headlight was dim.

I bet it was not as dim as you.

Surely they would be texting other people. They can't be as sad as you.

Great photos, Peeps---I'm really envious. I couldn't help thinking that the seaview at Badjao looked very like a Scottish loch although I trust the water is a bit warmer.

I've been to bed and just got up. I'm not 100% sure of the time difference. I need to find out. It's eleven minutes past seven here. What time is it with you?

It's 06:20 on my computer clock. You'll have to look at the time this message was posted to get the time on the forum.

For a man who uses Fermat's Last Theorem as his avatar, that's unquantifiably sad.
I apologise, in advance.

I once thought I was the square root of two, but everyone told me I was being irrational.

Well, they were wrong, and I think the name Square Root suits you to a tee.
I apologise, in advance.
